Charlotte O’Kelly CEO

Charlotte co-founded TechWorks Marine in 2002, she as a background in Environmental Resources (BSc) and Applied Oceanography (MSc).  Over the last 15 years Charlotte has worked exclusively in the field of Operational Oceanography.  She has been involved in a wide range of projects worldwide, both designing and deploying metocean monitoring platforms as well as being data manager on large EU marine projects.  Since taking the helm at TechWorks Marine she has continued to develop the business into new sectors (marine renewables, aquaculture), as well as grow both the commercial side of the business and the R&D activities of the company.

Philip Trickett Technical Director

Phil received a BEng from Kingston University before going on to a PGDip in Physical Oceanography specializing in sediment dynamics. Philip is responsible for the management of the technical team at TechWorks Marine. This includes the design and development of the TechWorks Marine Black Box (TMBB) range of data acquisition and transmission systems. Philip’s background in real-time data acquisition system development, laid the foundations for TechWorks Marine Ltd. His key technical skills include embedded hardware, software design and implementation, operational oceanography including mooring and integrated system integration, deployment and servicing, troubleshooting of scientific sensors and hardware/software issues.

Keith Wallace Business Development and Sales Manager

Keith has a background in Marine biology (BSc) and Applied Marine Science (MSc). In his professional career he has worked in the field of Coastal Engineering with a wealth of experience in metocean survey and numerical modeling. Keith was appointed Technical Leader for the Halcrow Group Limited in metocean data acquisition and has managed numerous major field campaigns internationally over the last 7 years. As business development and sales manager, he is responsible for the expansion of existing services in system integration and product sales, and developing the business in areas of metocean survey and equipment rental.

Christian Gagneraud Embedded Electronics Engineer

Christian joined TechWorks Marine in 2008 as an Embedded System Engineer. In 2002, he graduated with a MSc in micro-electronics and automation at Polytech'Montpellier, France. Before moving from Toulouse to Ireland, he worked on the Airbus A380 program as an R&D engineer, and as a Test & Quality Engineer for Freescale semiconductor (Motorola spin-off). Christian is involved with the development of embedded electronics for TechWorks Marine products, sensor integration and field work.

Rory O’Connell Marine Scientist

Rory achieved a BSc in Marine Science from the National University of Ireland, Galway in 2008. Following this he spent just under a year working for the Irish Marine Institute aiding their research on the freshwater habitat and population studies of Atlantic salmon and the European eel. Rory also contributed to their climate change research programme. He joined TechWorks Marine in early 2009 as a Marine Scientist, and has since gained extensive experience in ROV operations, oceanographic installations and servicing, Earth Observation techniques, data processing, report writing and a variety of other tasks.
